The Osteria D'Assisi is practically a Santa Fe landmark, located just 2 blocks North of the historic downtown Santa Fe Plaza and having been operating for 20 years. The restaurant is named after the town in Italy where Saint Francis, the patron saint of Santa Fe, was born. We specialize in classic and contemporary Iatalian cuisine and is the only local restaurant that can boast both an Italian owner and an Italian chef.
Osteria D'Assisi has been awarded many accolades, including best Italian restaurant in New Mexico by Trip Advisor. Owner Lino Pertusini has even been awarded the title "Cavaliere", an order of Italian knighthood, for helping to spread Italian culture through cuisine. Executive Chef Cristian Pontiggia is the proud recipient of many awards himself. In addition to working at two Michelin Star awarded restaurants in Europe, he has received several awards for cooking and wine knowledge from the Chaine des Routisseurs. The Italian government recognizes him as a Master Chef and he holds a culinary degree that certifies him as a Doctor of Oenogastronomy.
